The previous owners of this piece of land had a logging business that had gone bankrupt, and they had an estate auction to pay the bills. For the most part, this farm, which was homesteaded in 1904, is surprisingly bereft of old artifacts. That was until recently, when we cleaned out a loft area on an old building that had somehow gotten missed in the purge. Here are a few of our cool finds.
Nine years in Southwest Colorado. An amazing experience. Amazing friends. But a new job opportunity for my husband, a chance to be closer to family, and most importantly for me, a better climate and growing season, prompted a move to the area near Spokane Washington. Twenty acres. A 1904 farm-house with root cellar. Outbuildings. Mature trees, including three apples and a load of plums. A chance to farm for real. Hello Inland Northwest!
